I feel the need to be real:

I woke up and felt a little BORING today. I felt like, “What am I doing with my life?” Then I realized, “AH!! Social Media!!”

Social media isn’t real.

It’s a snapshot of the best parts of our bodies and the good side of our faces, through filters usually.

It’s a momentary glimpse of the best part of our week or month or year, but it gives the idea that we are having a fabulous life 24/7. Let me just say, this is not the TRUTH!!!

Just so you know, Yes, we have a good marriage, but it is work, commitment and lots of forgiveness (especially on Allen’s part!). WE don’t have beautiful friends over all the time, nor are we going to places with our beautiful friends all that often. We hardly ever go anywhere as flashy as the Hollywood Bowl. If we go anywhere, it’s probably Chipotle. Our family isn’t always cracking up together and savoring every moment as a family. Often, I am scrambling trying to KEEP US TOGETHER and get the boys home!!! If we take a photo in the backyard, I make sure to try to get the background the greenest and lushest and not the majority that has been adversely affected by dog pee and drought.

That’s just a bit of reality. I could go on.

Because I was a bit depressed and needed perspective, I just thought I’d reach out to anyone else who thinks they are boring and missing out on the exciting life that everyone else is having.

Engage, right now. Be grateful where you are. This is the beginning of a fabulous DAY!!
